Our Physio Led Exercise classes are always led by one of our qualified physiotherapists, therefore you will know with confidence you are in safe hands. These classes are perfect if you are returning to exercise after injury or illness, or looking to build your fitness in a safe and controlled way. With a physiotherapist leading your class you can rest assured any of your specific concerns related to your health with be understood, with your exercise program being specifically tailored to accommodate your health needs. If you are privately insured you may be entitled to a health fund rebate for these classes.
Physio Pilates: Reformer
Physio pilates is a wonderful way to return to exercise following injury, surgery or illness. Using our professional pilates reformer beds this class will help you improve your posture, flexibility, core and muscle strength, endurance and balance.
Before joining the class each participant must complete an individual assessment with one of our physiotherapists at Active Lifestyle Physiotherapy. Based off this assessment we will then develop and individualised program according to your personal needs and goals. This program will be tailored to your individual ability and level.
If you have never tried pilates or used a reformer bed before do not be put off. This is a perfect way to learn and ease your way into this type of exercise in a small group environment of up to five people. Importantly, we love to have fun during these classes!

Seniors Classes
We know all too well that the thought of attending your run of the mill gym can be daunting in our older years for a number of reasons! Our senior classes are designed for our clients who are 60 years or older, with a specific focus on exercises that are important as we continue to age. These classes are a fun and social way that will help you improve your general fitness, strength, endurance, bone health, balance and maintain flexibility. Using different gym equipment including bands, weights and balance balls you will begin to notice an improvement in your overall health and wellbeing and you will be making an investment in your future.
Before joining the class each participant must complete an individual assessment with one of our physiotherapists at Active Lifestyle Physiotherapy. Based off this assessment we will then develop an individualised program according to your personal needs and goals. This program will be tailored to your level and availability.

Pregnancy Classes (Ante & Post Natal)
No two pregnancies are the same and both our Ante Natal (during pregnancy) and Post Natal (after birth) classes will ensure you can continue to exercise during all stages of child carrying and birth.
Our Ante Natal classes are specifically designed for women during all trimesters of their pregnancy, but importantly as a pregnancy progresses the load on the body increases. These exercise classes will help you maintain your fitness, strength and endurance during your pregnancy. Each participant will have exercises tailored to their individual need and adjust as their pregnancy progresses. Being led by a physiotherapist you can know with confidence the exercises you will do are safe for you and your baby.
Our Post Natal classes will allow you to safely return to exercise following child birth (both vaginally or caesarean section). Pregnancy significantly impacts our pelvic and core strength and these classes are the perfect way to begin to activate and rebuild these muscles with an aim to build endurance and reduce injury. With a focus on building capability the exercises will be sequenced to increase your strength and endurance, with a focus on functional day to day activities such as lifting. Participants can commence classes from four weeks following child birth and your baby is welcome to come along too. To help ensure you can remain focused during the class we will have an extra set of hands who will be available to help mind and settle your newest arrival.
